About

The Tempe Orbit bus is a free bus that circulates throughout Tempe and connects neighborhoods to downtown Tempe, other transit options, and retail hubs like Tempe Marketplace. The Mercury route is closest to Culdesac and goes to Downtown Tempe.

One important but often overlooked feature of the Orbit bus is that certain parts of the route are flag zones where you must flag down the bus to be picked up or pull the cord to be let off anywhere along the route. The exception is along busy roads like Mill Ave., University Dr., and Rural Rd. β€” these are not flag zones and you must enter and exit at a designated stop.
