Our Envoy Fleet

There are 4 dedicated Envoy parking spots located across from the trash enclosure at the southwestern corner of the Culdesac Tempe parking lot, EV chargers #446 - 449. Our fleet of 3 Envoy cars includes:

  • Envoy 656: Grey 5-seat Chevy Bolt EUV, license plate 9DCK990
  • Envoy 612: Black 5-seat Chevy Bolt EV, license plate 61DVZT
  • Envoy 613: Black 5-seat Chevy Bolt EV, license plate 9HNW581
The dedicated Envoy parking spots are located across from the trash enclosure at the southwestern corner of the parking lot. Entering the parking lot from Apache Blvd, drive past three drive aisle intersections, then look for the Envoy parking signs to your left. Please park in the accessible Envoy spot if it is available (turn into the third drive aisle and park on the right), so users with accessibility considerations are able to access Envoy vehicles.

Get Started

  1. Download the Envoy app
  2. Create an account and input your contact information, driver license and camera verification, and payment information
  3. Exit the Envoy Wallet by tapping the back arrow in the upper left to add your community (or go to Menu > "My Communities")
  4. Add your community: find "Culdesac Tempe"
  5. Tap "Get Access" > "I have an access code" > add access code 7CPPSQ4J
You must be 21 years old to rent an Envoy vehicle.
Driver license verification can take up to 24 hours. Please create your account early to avoid potential delays. If verification is taking longer than you'd like, try tēn4 carshare.

Renting an Envoy car

  • To rent the car, go into the Envoy app and select the date, time, and duration of the rental.
  • Rates start at $5/hour and $50/day. Rates are subject to change.
  • When it’s time for your rental, start your ride in the Envoy app.
    • Your phone is the key, so make sure you have Bluetooth and GPS turned on to connect to the car.
    • Use the Envoy app to unlock and lock the vehicle. In the app, tap "Start Ride," turn on GPS if it isn't already, and tap "Unlock a Car."
Your guests can use Envoy! In the Envoy app, navigate to the menu, tap Help, tap Guest Access, and enter your guest's phone number. Once they create an account, they'll have access to the Envoy cars for 24 hours. Be cognizant of driver license verification timing mentioned above.

Returning an Envoy car

  1. Return the car to its designated spot in the parking lot. Entering the parking lot from Apache Blvd, drive past three drive aisle intersections, then look for the Envoy parking signs to your left.
Please do not park in the accessible parking spot (EV charger #446) because none of the Envoy cars have accessible placards.
  1. Plug the car in:
    1. Push the right side of the charging port door, located in front of the driver's door, to open it.
    2. Insert the charger and ensure it latches.
    3. Find the credit card-shaped Envoy charging card in the car and tap it on the QR code on the EV charger outside the car. The blue light above "Charge" should turn on.
Make sure to place the Envoy charging card back in the car for the next person booking.
  1. End your rental in the Envoy app.

Operating Envoy Cars

Press the power button while pushing on the brake to turn on the car.

Pull up on the silver lever to go into Reverse.

Pull up on the silver lever to go into Drive.

Push the P button to park.

Troubleshooting

If the app is not connecting to the car, try these things:

  1. Go to location services in settings and ensure Envoy location access is set to "Always allow"
  2. Get as close as possible to the driver's side door when unlocking the car
  3. Try force quitting the app for faster connection times
  4. Try deleting and reinstalling the app
  5. Try connecting to the car's Bluetooth, as you would to show directions, play music, or connect to CarPlay and try turning the car on again
  6. Contact Envoy’s customer support. Do one of the following:
    1. Go to the “Help” section of the Envoy app
    2. Call the Envoy Customer Support Line at 1-888-610-0506
    3. Text Envoy for immediate assistance at 424-404-6512
    4. Email Envoy at community@envoythere.com
  7. Contact us and we'll make sure you get the help you need

If you require roadside assistance:

It is the driver's responsibility to manage the battery range of the vehicle and to successfully return the vehicle to its Envoy parking space. Otherwise, you might be liable for $100 fine + towing fees.
